Role overview
Working within the busy communications team, the Designer will manage the creative direction for VSO internationally, leading the VSO brand from a visual perspective by ensuring key elements of the brand such as brand personality and big ideas are brought to life through visual outputs.
Acting as an account manager, the designer will work with teams to take projects from brief stage through to delivery of creative execution. Projects will include marketing campaigns, corporate materials, social media, fundraising and general communications. Executions will be across all media on and offline.
Skills, qualifications and experience required
We are seeking an enthusiastic, creative designer to join our international communications team. The successful candidate will have a degree or equivalent in a related subject and will ideally be a graduate with commercial or freelancing experience and a current portfolio. You will be excited about working in an international environment, as well as using your skills to benefit some of the poorest communities in the world.
As a Designer you will be carrying out both digital and print work in a fast paced high-pressure environment. Most importantly you will be extremely passionate about what you do and be able to come up with truly engaging and refreshing concepts. You will have experience in designing for print including brochures, advertising campaigns, display materials. You will also have demonstrable digital experience and be able to design for online platforms including websites, social media and online advertising campaigns.
Excellent knowledge of Creative Suite is essential, as well as MS Office, Flash, and a basic understanding of HTML would be an advantage, as would experience of picture research and editing.
